Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this Call for Papers !!! Extended Deadline (firm): July 8, 2012 !!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CALL FOR PAPERS IEEE CloudNet 2012 The 2012 1st IEEE International Conference on Cloud Networking Financially sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society, with special thanks to the IEEE Cloud Initiative providing seed funding. November 28-30, 2012 University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France http://www.ieee-cloudnet.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The first IEEE International Conference on Cloud Networking (IEEE CloudNet 2012) will be held in Paris, France, in November 2012. Cloud Networking has emerged as a promising direction for cost-efficient and reliable service delivery across data communication networks. The dynamic location of service facilities and the virtualization of hardware and software elements are stressing the communication network and protocols, especially when data-centers are interconnected through the Internet. Although the "computing" aspects of Cloud technologies have been largely investigated, lower attention has been devoted to the networking and communications aspects. The 2012 IEEE Int. Conference on Cloud Networking (IEEE CloudNet 2012), part of the IEEE Cloud Computing Initiative, precisely addresses these aspects. Conference topics include (but are not limited to): - Data Center Network Management, Reliability, Optimization - Distributed Data Center Architectures - Internet Routing of Cloud data - Ethernet Routing: TRILL, Shortest Path Bridging, L2LSP, OpenFlow - Virtual Ethernet Bridging, Data Center Bridging - Cloud Traffic Characterization and Measurements - Intra-Cloud and Inter-Cloud Networking - Cloud Traffic Engineering and Control-Plane Architectures - Green Cloud Networking - Security, Privacy, Confidentiality in Cloud networking - Network on the fly, Virtual Control, Virtual Radio, Isolation - Virtualization of Wireless Equipment - Unified User and Machine Mobility Management - Mobile Cloud Networking, Follow-Me-Cloud - Storage Area Networks, Optical Interconnect, Fiber Channel - Content and Service Distribution Supporting IEEE Communications Society Technical Committees: - Cloud Communications and Networking Ad-Hoc TC - Communications Software TC (TCCS) - Communications Systems Integration and Modeling TC (CSIM) - Computer Communications TC (TCCC) - Green Communications & Computing Technical SubCommittee (TSCGCC) - Information Infrastructure and Networking (TCIIN) - Internet TC (ITC) - Network Operations and Management TC (CNOM) Keynote Speakers ------------------------ Radia Perlman, Intel Labs Title: "Cloud Fabric: Myths, Missteps, and Mysteries" Charlie Kaufman, Microsoft Azure Title: "Cloud Network Security: Challenges and Opportunities" Tarik Taleb, NEC Europe Title: "Mobile Cloud Networking: Why and How?" more TBA Paper submission ------------------------ Authors are invited to submit technical papers presenting original, unpublished research, not currently under review elsewhere. All submissions should be written in English with a maximum length of 5 single-spaced, double-column pages and should follow IEEE paper templates. Papers can exceed the page limit with a maximum of 3 extra pages, which (if accepted) will be subject to an extra fee (75E per page). Papers are to be submitted electronically on the EDAS web site by the deadline indicated below. Papers submitted after this deadline will be discarded without review. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings published by the IEEE in IEEEXplore. Important dates --------------------- - Full paper submission: July 8, 2012 (extended) - Paper acceptance notification: September 15, 2012 - Final camera-ready paper: October 10, 2012 Best papers will be considered for fast-track publication in the Annals of Telecommunications (Springer, ISI-indexed). Venue --------- The conference will be located in the Jussieu campus of the University Pierre and Marie Curie, in the Latin quarter in the very center of Paris, France.
